UFO's PAUL RAYMOND Offers Studio Update: Photos Available

UFO keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Paul Raymond has posted the following message on his official web site:

"As you know, I've been in Germany in March for rehearsals and back in April recording the new [UFO] album. Much has progressed since then according to our manager and producer. Everyone is really excited about the way this album is evolving. I'm going back in a couple of weeks to add backing vocals and to tweak any keys necessary.

"The rehearsal was real fun — it had much of the atmosphere of the old days. I think Phil [Mogg; vocals] has already said that Andy [Parker; drums] has the memory of an elephant and he has kept us all laughing recounting his recollections of our prior escapades! He even remembered that he requested I play 'Satin Doll' on our hotel piano before I was carted off to jail in Knoxville, Tennessee 1978! Anyway, 28 years later I fulfilled my obligations in a restaurant in downtown Hanover!

"I spent a lot of time writing music for the new album and submitted several songs, two of which have been taken on board — I am particularly excited about one of them with the working title 'Unsung Hero', to which I understand Phil has now completed the lyrics. During recording it took on a whole new character, which at first I didn't embrace as it was so different to my original draft, but I freely admit that it is sounding really great with a definite 'Love to Love' feel about it.

"Pete has also had two of his songs included, and I played some slide guitar and rock'n'roll piano on a bluesy number that he wrote. Our manager is raving about it as a possible single. Who knows?! He may be right?

"I'll be returning in mid-May – looking forward to hearing how the project has progressed since I was last there, with lead guitars and vocals. I can't give you a title for the CD yet, but all of us have submitted our ideas! Think mine's still in with a chance….. watch this space!
